The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been widespread.
Season 1 introduces a large cast of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.
The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator stated recently. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.
That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating happens now.
"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.
"I've come across a few fans create a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on October 29.
